I’ve
been on the hunt for the perfect pair of heeled booties, but I couldn’t find
any that were perfect enough to purchase. One day out of the blue my mom
cleaned the shoe area and found these perfectly sitting in its box and unworn.
The funny thing is when I first saw them I immediately asked her where she got
them. Then she reminded me that my sister and I had purchased these as a gift
for my mom a few years back, and I had completely forgotten. The greatest thing
about having a mom and sister within the same sizes is more clothes and shoes
to share! So she let me “borrow” them and I’ve finally worn them out today. I
was a bit hesitant because I’m not normally in heels and I knew I would be
exhausted by the end of the day, but I wasn’t! These heels are perfect because they
were pain free and so comfortable! I would definitely recommend this exact pair,
but it was years ago. (Nine West incase anyone else is curious)

Phone Post: AICI Day 2
Incase any of you were wondering how my weekend is going, it's going great! Currently at the Association Image Consulting International Conference for the SF bay area. I was completely nervous as days and hours approached, but overall I'm glad I'm stuck in a room full of smart, knowledgeable, humorous and good-looking group of women of all ages (and one man). These presentations are eye opening and also inspiring, and giving me more knowledge about the industry of image consulting. I also can't complain about the free coffee they give out!

(no title)
Going to my first big girl career related conference tomorrow! I was selected amongst a class of ~25 for being the ~best note taker~ from my professor. Yay me! Along with going tomorrow, I got some business cards made because it’s the bes tnetworking tool. I'm actually still recovering from a cold/dry cough and it's kind of crazy. I've been home for the past two days, and having several cough attacks. Being sick sucks! I hope I don’t break out in crazy coughs tomorrow during the key speakers. I should also mention that it’s a 3-day conference, so I hope I get a lot of updates and tips to share. I’m going to get plenty of rest now, so hopefully this disgusting cough of mine will go away by tomorrow.

Phone Post: New Reads
My supplementary reading for my Fashion Forecasting class. Also juggling between a few other books. It helps that I'm sick and bed bounded, reading galore it is!

1st Week
First week of school wrap-up;
- I’ll be seeing the same people every night, which means no outfit repeating...same goes with everyone else in my class. *Cue Lizzie McGuire Movie clip.*
- Tuesdays are my new Thursdays. I’m also taking a history class, so I’ll have 2 three-hour classes on Tuesdays. Caffeine is a must on these days!
- The same thing I go through every beginning of the quarters/semesters, textbooks! If I’m paying so much for school, why do I have to buy all these expensive books? At least these books will be useful for me in the future, except for my history books.
- I have the same classroom for 3 of my classes; I wonder if I can claim my own seat. I’ve done so well in other classrooms in the past semesters.
- Bart ride to and from class, you are the bane of my existence. But I do get some reading going on in there to kill time.
- Becoming more homesick since I haven’t had dinner with my family all week long. Monday through Thursday, 6-9pm, the best and worst schedule ever.

School and Snacks
Jacket - Kristen Blake / Dress - H&M (seasons ago) / Leggings - Target / Boots - Nine West / Handbag - Purchased from China
As excited as I am for school to start and about learning about my
favorite subject, these three-hour classes are going to be a drag. Especially
since most of my classes are during the evening, which also coincides with my dinnertime.
Having my stomach grumble during class is extremely bothersome. Due to the fact
that I won't be able to concentrate in class and I'll be focused on trying to
contain the noise of my tummy.
My only advice to myself for this situation is snacking! I often
find myself limited to time due to the commute to the city. Fifty whole minutes
of just getting to class (and maybe even to work soon), does not give enough
time to sit down and relax with my food. A good thing about snacking is not
having to worry about keeping my food warm or cold, and it’s also an easy thing
to pop in my mouth while on the go. One of my favorite snacks to take and go are
steak-flavored almonds! I get both the benefits of having a meaty taste while
getting my daily protein and fiber. Sounds like a win win situation if you ask
me. Other snacks I like to grab and go are fruits (mainly bananas to be honest,
its the easiest to peel), yogurt, granola bars, and string cheese. After I get
tired of these snacks, I'm going to start branching out, and hopefully
snack healthier (as if my snacks aren't healthy already).
Starting to compile another list of snacks now...

Lazy day off
Just
spending my last few days relaxing at my cousin's new pad before spring
semester starts. Also, good job 49ers! This picture pretty much sums up my
whole entire day. Hanging on the couch snacking and sipping while watching the
game and reading my magazine. Basically multi-tasking at its finest. There’s
always something to read in my life, whether it’s a book, a magazine or an
article in my phone. Still on track with my resolution!
Time
to snuggle in and be lazy some more!

Date Night #1
Jean Jacket - Old Navy (similar one here) / Button up - Purchased from China / Pants - My mom's / Faux fur bag - Purchased from China / Flats - Lucky Brand / Sunglasses - Dollar Store
My dude surprised me with some tickets to the Nightlife event at
Academy of Sciences in San Francisco for Christmas. Nightlife is basically the
same museum exhibit, but it happens at night and booze included. Perfect, my
two favorite things put together at the same place. I'm all about museums; the
art, the people, the atmosphere and its always something different from doing
the regular. I also have free admission to a few museums in the Bay Area so that’s
also pretty sweet!
Aside from the frigid weather, the night went swell. Kind of
bummed that we didn't get to see the Planetarium part of it. The aquarium and
rainforest were my two favorites parts of the night, both horrifying yet
incredible. They range from large snakes to beautiful jellyfishes, and
disgusting spiders to delicate butterflies. My dude was lucky enough to have a
butterfly land on him, but little did he know that butterfly had a little
tasting of his fingers.
Now I'm tired and heading off to date #2 with the sandman! (; Night!

Collecting Memories
I have a habit of collection little pieces of art, especially postcards from places I've been. Then I throw them onto my homemade bulletin board I made in high school (as seen in the background from a previous instagram photo), and they just kind of hoard up there. I've taken the chance to clear up my board and decided to start new for 2013. Here are some of my collected memories from 2012.
1. A card from my good college friend Angel about women and cats.
2. 'Gold over Love' print with glitter bought from this little art booth in SF.
3. Macau postcard from my trip in January, one of my top 5 favorite locations in the world.
4. 'Eff Portland' postcard from my trip in June.
5. 'Well behaved women rarely make history' quote stolen off the streets of Portland, OR.
6. Free Kate Spade pin from SF.
7. Savoy coaster from Portland, OR.
8. Academy of Arts Spring 2012 Show invitation. My first fashion show in the audience!
9. 'Be the change sucka' sticker from Haight St. in SF.
10. Lindsay Lohan art prints from my good efriend Sara.
11. A 'you're doing good' progress slip at work from my old manager.
12. Postcard from the Jean Paul Gaultier exhibit at the DeYoung Museum.
13. The youngest photo of my papa and great grandfather, acquired from past trip to China.
My 2013 board is yet to be filled, but I might want to focus more on things I've acquired for free rather than purchased. Saving money is also a goal for 2013!

The New New
This is the perfect first post for my new blog, along with my newly acquired book from today.
Dressing the Man, Mastering the Art of Permanent Fashion by Alan Flusser
I often tell people what I'm in school for, and many of them
(mainly males) ask me to dress them or tell them how to dress. I often respond
with, "I will when I learn." Its not that I don't know how to dress a
man, but I don't know how to "properly" dress them (that, and we
focus more on women's fashion than men in school). For now, all I say is to
throw on a t-shirt and a pair of jeans and you're all set...coming from my
California-minded mentality. This book was actually recommended by
one of my lecturers Ms. Kelly, along with a presentation by Randy Chandler from
Wilkes Bashford. I can't wait to start reading it, and take these tips and also
apply it to women's fashion...and obviously learn how to properly dress the
man.
Along with the New Year and new blog comes with new years
resolutions. Every year, I make the same few; eat healthier, be active, and
every other generic resolution. I've decided this year to just have one, so I
won't have too many to juggle. I hope I'll be easy since I've picked up a few fashion
related books, along with some fictional e-books. Ways to stimulate my mind
more and more. (On a side note, updating this blog should also be a resolution.)
